केंद्र सरकारने किरकोळ व्यापार क्षेत्रात १०० टक्के विदेशी गुंतवणुकीला परवानगी दिल्याच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर व्यापारांनी आज बंद पुकारला. औरंगाबाद जिल्हा व्यापारी महासंघानेही यास पाठिंबा दाखवला आहे. शहरात या बंदला चांगला प्रतिसाद मिळाला असून, सर्व बाजारपेठांमध्ये बंद पाळण्यात आला आहे. शहरातील , मोंढा, जाधववाडी, कॅनॉट गार्डन, औरंगपूरा, शहागंज, पैठणगेट, गुलमंडी व वाळूज या मुख्य बाजारपेठांमध्ये कडकडीत बंद पाळण्यात आला. शहर आणि जिल्ह्यातील प्रमुख बाजारपेठा कडकडीत बंद होत्या यामुळे कोट्यवधीची उलाढाल ठप्प होती. शहरात जिल्हा व्यापारी महासंघातर्फे सकाळी साडेनऊ वाजता शहागंज येथील महात्मा गांधी यांच्या पुतळ्याला पुष्पहार अर्पण करून बंदला प्रारंभ झाला त्यानंतर जिल्हाधिकारी महासंघ व पदाधिकाऱ्यांनी शहरातील विविध भागाचा दौरा केला. या बंदमध्ये किराणा, पुस्तक विक्रेते, हॉटेल कापड विक्रेते, तेल विक्रेते असे सर्व व्यवहार आणि बाजारपेठा बंद होत्या. यामध्ये जिल्हा व्यापारी महासंघाचे अध्यक्ष जगन्नाथ काळे, अजय शहा, लक्ष्मीनारायण राठी, या संघटनेशी संलग्न असलेल्या इतर सर्व संघटनांनी यात सहभाग घेत शंभर टक्के बंद पळला.
